In October 2004, a large Sofia bakery approached EnCon Services for assistance with an energy efficiency project under the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) supported Bulgarian Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Credit Line (BEERECL). An energy audit was completed of the company’s bread-making plant outside of Sofia. The audit identified that the high electricity consumption in the plant, and the high electricity costs respectively, were due to old, energy intense process equipment. New equipment was specified and a project business plan was written. In December 2004, the company was successful in securing a loan to implement a process improvement and energy efficiency project.
In early 2006, a Bulgarian brewery asked EnCon Services for assistance with an energy efficiency project under the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) supported Bulgarian Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Credit Line (BEERECL). An energy audit was completed that confirmed that the energy consumption in the brewery, and the high energy costs respectively, were due to the old, energy intense process equipment. EnCon Services helped the company identify a range of energy efficiency measures and energy saving process improvements. EnCon prepared a project business plan and the brewery was successful in securing a loan to implement the energy efficiency project.
A Bulgarian greenhouse asked EnCon Services for assistance with a cogeneration project under the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) supported Bulgarian Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Credit Line (BEERECL). In late 2006, the company worked with EnCon Services Ltd. to get a free energy audit and to develop a business plan for installation of a cogeneration unit and modernization of their greenhouse complex. In February 2007, they secured a BEERECL loan for the project through a local Bulgarian bank.
